Yeah it is great, I think we are slowly trending towards moving back. The winters are a bit crap, but it’s a good spot, and it’s finally got it’s mojo back. I hadn’t been back in a couple of years and Halifax
is finally starting to punch above its weight again.
Only real drawback is the cost of getting out and in, plane tickets are crazy. Also p
rovincial government is a bit of a gongshow too, Halifax is kind of leading the way and the rural areas are getting left in the dust.

Yeah, Halifax was surprisingly metropolitan (not that I thought it would be full of people who look and talk like Sea Captain from the Simpsons).
Lots of great places to live, drink and eat. Tons of stuff to see. But yeah, you drive out of town and wow, big change.
That being said, Mahone Bay, Wolfeville and Lunenburg were nice.

It’s mostly the result of having a ton of universities and military bases close by. And it’s a party town as a result.
But the rural areas, there isn’t much. Most folks get their high school and head west, so it’s pretty much just retirees outside of Halifax.
In the 90s and 2000s there was just nothing at all even in the city
- everyone left, and it’s only just starting to recover now.

Did you have any lobster? If you’re in NS, you should have some lobster.

Never liked it, though it probably didn’t help my dad tested fish/shellfish for toxins, and he had a blanket ban on us having pretty much most anything other than cod/halibut/scallops/salmon.
And even those had to be from certain areas.

WHAT? AND YOU DID NOT COME VISIT ME???
Also, Steak and Stein is frickin’ delicious....I haven’t been there in ages, but Derby style is most definitely FTW! I usually get one of each though! :P

Those are the three sortof stereotypical ‘tourist’ places. :)
A plus is housing is pretty cheap here, comparatively
, but it’s not always easy to find work in your field.

To be fair, I did swing by your place at about 15,000 ft... Figured with the craziness of the holidays an impromptu Oppo meet was probably going to be a logistical challenge. Maybe in the summer.
Ha we used to rock the old one over on Tacoma Drive with its amazing orange/gold/green decor.
